Privacy Policy

The short version

We collect only what we need to compose your trip. We don’t sell your data, we don’t serve ads, and we don’t track you with cookies. If you want something deleted, tell us and we’ll take care of it.

What we collect

Composition inputs

When you compose a trip, you tell us the city, dates, party size, how you’re getting around, and what part of the day you have. We use this to build your itinerary. These inputs are not stored long-term beyond the session.

Journal entries

If you write journal entries during your trip, we store that text so it’s there when you come back to it.

Photos

Photos you upload are stored securely. If your photo includes location data, we store that too — it helps us connect the photo to the right moment in your trip.

Saved trips

When you save a composition, we store it so you can revisit and share it via its URL.

Analytics

We use Plausible for analytics. Plausible is privacy-friendly — no cookies, no personal data, aggregate numbers only. We see how many people visit; we don’t see who.

Rate limiting

We use IP-based counters to prevent abuse. These expire automatically and are not used for tracking or identification.

What we don’t collect

  • No tracking cookies
  • No personal profiles (accounts are coming — we’ll update this when they do)
  • No payment information
  • No location tracking beyond what you choose to share
  • No selling or sharing your data with third parties
  • No advertising

How we use AI

Your compositions are generated using Anthropic’s Claude API. When you compose a trip, your inputs (city, dates, preferences) are sent to Anthropic for processing. Anthropic’s own privacy policy applies to that API usage. We do not use your data to train AI models.

Where your data lives

Everything is hosted in the United States:

  • Application hosting — Vercel
  • Database — Neon Postgres
  • Photo storage — Vercel Blob
  • Rate limiting — Upstash Redis

Your rights

You can ask us to delete your journal entries, photos, or saved trips at any time. Just reach out at michael@origorig.com and we’ll handle it.

Changes to this policy

If we change how we handle your data, we’ll update this page. No surprises.
